One of the solutions East-West Debt is able to provide for its clients is the purchase of their claim. East-West Debt is able to buy your claim at market conditions. This solution has the advantage that cash is received quickly and the procedure is very simple. Downside to selling your claim, however, is, that claims on emerging markets are usually rated very low on the secondary market.

If a client is not happy to sell its claim at market value, East-West Debt and the client can agree to enter into an option agreement. This option gives East-West Debt the exclusive right to purchase the claim at an agreed percentage within a certain timeframe. During this timeframe East-West Debt will explore the possibilities to recover the claim at the percentage the client wishes to receive.

The advantages of such an option agreement are:

- the client remains owner of the claim during the term of the option.
- the client will achieve a higher percentage instead of the minimal secondary market price.
- the client no longer has any responsibility nor liability towards any third party for the claim from the moment the claim is purchased by East-West Debt.
